Strategic Group Map
Plot competitors on a two-axis map to reveal strategic clusters, white space, and positioning opportunities. Load an industry example, import from the Competitor Analyzer, or start fresh and define your own dimensions.

How to use this tool
1 — Define dimensions & add competitors
Add your own X and Y axis dimensions in the Dimensions panel, or they load automatically from an example or Competitor Analyzer import. Scores use a 0–10 scale. Then click + Add competitor or import.
2 — Position bubbles
Drag any bubble to reposition it — axis scores update automatically. Edit a score in the table to move the bubble. Double-click a bubble to rename it. Set bubble size to market share in the panel above.
3 — Add & adjust group circles
Click “+ Add group” to place a circle, or click any empty spot on the map.
Move it: drag from anywhere inside the circle.
Resize it: drag from the circle’s edge (cursor changes to ↔).

4 — Name groups & add insights
Assign competitors to groups in the table. Name each group below the map, then fill in the Insights section and export to PDF.

Dimensions (axis options)
Add any competitive dimension — scores use a 0–10 scale. Then select which dimension goes on X and Y below.
Click the map to add group boundary circles • Double-click a competitor bubble to rename it • Scores are on a 0–10 scale
Click empty space to place a strategic group boundary • Drag bubbles to reposition • Double-click a bubble to rename • Assign groups in the table below — a coloured ring appears on the bubble • Scores: 0 (low) to 10 (high)
Strategic groups — name and describe each cluster
Suggest fills the dropdown based on bubble position — you can override any assignment
Competitors on the map — edit scores to reposition bubbles, or drag bubbles to update scores
